May Assembly: Rick Gold
Join Sunday Assembly Gainesville for our May assembly, Sunday May 19 at 11:00am. We'll meet in person at the Pride Community Center of North Central Florida (PCCNCF) at their new location in the Springhill Professional Center, 3850 NW 83rd Street, Suite 201.

Our guest speaker will be Rick Gold, board member of the Society for Humanistic Judaism and former President of Machar, the Secular Humanistic Jewish Congregation of Greater Washington. Rick has participated in and provided leadership to the humanistic Judaism movement for 25 years. He moved to Gainesville in 2014 and serves as lead volunteer for the Gainesville Humanistic Judaism Community and Florida Jews for a Secular Democracy. He also leads curriculum development for the Institute for Learning in Retirement at Oak Hammock. A retired Foreign Service Officer with the US Agency for International Development, Rick continues to lead global and country-focused studies for the Agency focusing on rule of law, anti-corruption, democracy, citizen security and gender.
Rick will present “The Institutions of the Humanistic Judaism Movement.”
Following the assembly, we'll have a pot-luck meal together. Bring something if you can!
Music will be provided by the SAGA musicians and all are welcome to raise their voices and sing along.
