Guest Speaker: Dorothy Benson of SWAG
Happy New Year!
SAGA welcomes the new year with the first assembly of 2021. Our special guest speaker will be community organizer Dorothy Benson, co-founder of the Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG).
SWAG focuses on bringing greater opportunities and resources to the SWAG neighborhoods through the SWAG Family Resource Center, the SW Health Clinic, and the CHILD Center, a model demonstration childcare center. In her presentation, she will share SWAG's history and vision, tell us how the pandemic is impacting their work today, and how they are able to continue supporting our community members because of community partners like SAGA.
Join us for Dorothy's presentation, as well as music, sharing and fellowship.
January's assembly also marks five years (to the day!) of SAGA's inaugural assembly. We'll celebrate as best we can via Zoom—feel free to have festive drinks or food handy as you join the assembly.
