His talk: “Astronomy Saves the World: Securing our Future through Exploration and Education.”
Dr. Dan Batcheldor is an astrophysicist, author, and teacher. He is Chair of the Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences program at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne FL. He has won multiple opportunities to use the Hubble Space Telescope. His research has covered all the sci-fi classics of Black holes, planets around other stars, and Mars. He is currently awaiting the launch of the James Webb Space telescope and has successfully led a small payload mission to the International Space Station. He moved from Hertfordshire England to the US in 2004 and became a US citizen in May 2018.
