Face coverings are welcomed. Our guest speaker will be Vivian L. Filer. Mrs. Filer retired as a professor of nursing at Santa Fe College after a 26-year career. Filer now serves as the CEO of the Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center. She is the 2022 recipient of the Sarah Matheson Award in recognition of her significant contributions to the history and preservation of the history of Alachua County and surrounding areas. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Florida, a Master’s degree in Education from Nova University, and a Master of Nursing Degree from the University of South Florida. She will present: “Women Advancing the Civil Rights Movement in Gainesville, Florida.” Our SAGA musicians will provide music—all are welcome to sing along. |
